For anyone who hasn't noticed, hasn't been in New York, or doesn't follow tennis or the US Open, this week has been a disaster for the Open. Three+ full days of rain in the heart of the tournament with little time to make up matches has left everyone wondering how it'll get done. It has also left me with all too many hours and a lot of hurt. We've been forced to dry the courts as well as work the matches. A lot of the rain has been intermittent--making most of our efforts in vain and it's just been really tough on other counts as well.
I doubt I'll be doing this again next year, even if I have the time--which is a shame because I really like a lot of the people. But life goes on. You get e-mail addresses and phone numbers and move on. And wince because it happens all too often in life.
From next Wednesday on (I get up to school on Tuesday, I should be settled by Wednesday) my posts will be more regular. I can't wait--can you?
