So it's been a few days, eh?

And a lot has happened with me. A sidetrip to Florida, a stolen kiss and a lot of fun--to touch on a few ambiguously nebulous events. I've got a tan now. I also have a crew cut. I have time, I have a summer to-do list. I've got sunshine on a cloudy day.

Summer '03 To-Do List
1. Find a place in NY that offers 3 free beers to every patron (no catch).
2. Apply to a large number (must be prime and greater than 35) of fellowships and grants.
3. Apply to 15 different Grad Schools in 24 different countries.
4. Realize my entrepteneurial potential by creating a business and finding investors, employees and clients.
5. Take GREs (I think).
6. Write a study guide.
7. Write a thesis (the topic of which got approved, surprisingly).
8. Write a book.
9. Write 7-10 more songs.
10. Get my voice in tip-top shape.
11. Dream bigger than I ever have before.
12. Find her--well, let's go with life-goal on this one.

I have to say that lack of a T3 connection does impede my normal day-to-day.

Thanks to those who have sent me postcards already.

New music? The Nada Surf album Let Go is fantastic. The Staind album is unusually uppity for about 4 tracks. Hail to the Thief? Not so much as I hoped for. I didn't do the whole pull it from the web three months ago thing, but I expected something that I couldn't find. I feel like they forced this album, or Thom is forgetting that not everyone can find their way into his bizarre, little mind. There, there is still a good track, though a little old school for them. I guess my disappointment comes with their move into obscurity. I don't care that they're alienating the mainstream, they were never really big on getting its approval--but I don't feel like their music is still progressing. Evanescence is experimenting. I was disappointed whe I found out that the male vocalist for Bring Me to Life was a guest (though 12 Stones is actually very good, so a very nice choice). If they collaborated with Linkin Park, they could blow up the industry--Chester and that chick could destroy mics.

Much love to Rossman for putting me up and putting up with me for a week.

Why aren't there any DQ's in NY?

If you're around, holla at me--we'll get a drink.

Home in NY til July 12th.
