A very little thing can cause a very big problem.
A simple fuse can leave your sunroof open and/or stop your power locks from working.
That may seem simple enough, but after driving some 600 miles, it seems kind of complex.
And it's always easier to change fuses with some light.
Thairu and I discussed a few things yesterday on the drive back from Boston (I went up to get some books for thesis research), some of which are important to everyone (others which aren't but I want to mention anyway). Affirmative Action--pretends to treat the symptons and ignores the underlying problem which is more socio-economic than actually racial at this point (though statistically, there still is a large socio-economic gap between races). BMWs have nice asses, but not quite as nice as those of Vespas. There actually will be a goat waiting to be roasted upon my arrival in Nairobi. Plan for the long-term and the gaps will fill themselves in. The world is far too small. Sean Paul should DEFINITELY put out a rock record.
Thairu also began to understand my sense of humor when he saw my parents talking to one another for a couple of hours. He also had another bonding moment with my Dad--they watched Strong Bad together. Last time, they chugged wine. I'm feeling like the adopted child. I'm waiting for Thairu to get care packages from my folks.
Some quick album reviews...
I like the Chilipeppers album. It's been out for awhile. Still some great listening and one of the best cruising albums around.
The Ataris album, punk/pop/emo at its best. Fun with just enough emotion and varied sound to keep you interested for the whole thing.
The Used. I finally picked up their album. They overdo it on the distorted vocals. Their three singles are fantastic. There are a few more tracks on there that are good, but they've got to harness their vocalist if they want to be awesome.
Sean Paul's got some of the sickest flow out there. If you can flow over rock, you are the man. Ergo Sean Paul est hic homo.
R. Kelly's Chocolate Factory--between Thairu's obsession with Ignition (and its remix), Dave Chapelle's mock video, and a 9.99 Sale at Newbury Comics, I thought I would make Thairu happy on the 200+ mile ride home. Little did I know that he'd be all up ons once I started playing that. I had to turn it off before we got to the toll plaza. It's dangerous stuff, that Chocolate Factory. They need a "Parental Advisory: Heats Things Up" sticker on that thing. No, honestly, I'm embarrassed. Sorry, T.
And the world is far too small. Maybe that's a good thing. But it never seems to be small in the right ways.
