I spent the past week in Geneva. Inredible city. Gorgeous, Clean and Safe. But at what cost?

Let's explore.

So first off, they feed you a bunch of chocolate. That's the best part--easily. But it makes you complacent.

Then they give you a diet that consists of the fattiest parts of Italian, French and German cuisine. This ensures they have no old people to make the place unsightly.

Then they charge you $80 for any sit-down meal. $20 for take-out. $6 to set foot in a cab. This ensures that there is no working-class or homeless. They get bussed to the mountains.

Watch (and timepiece) prices are regulated, so you can only tell the time if you've got several thousands in disposible income. Otherwise, you haven't earned the right to know what time it is.

The gendarmes can show up at any time and throw you in the back of a truck and you won't be seen for years. Expect this if you spit on the street. Switzerland doesn't sign anything, especially Human Rights Accords.

And then there's the fact that it's an absolute ghost town. I wasn't sure anyone actually lived there until the 3rd day I was there--one guy was walking down the street. So sterile, so empty.

So if you want to go somewhere relaxing, and not run into anyone and eat really fatty food, and spend tons of money for very average stuff and exorbitant amounts of money on a nice watch and feel like you're in some urban desert--go to geneva. It's boring, sleepy, sterile and a little scary. And there's a giant waterspout that's totally inexplicable.

That said, I had a great time. But that had far less to do with Geneva than it had to do with me and the crew I rolled with.
